Built by a sailor chasing a dream
That's me in 2008, standing at Omaha Beach during a voyage on the tall ship Christian Radich. I was doing my NCO training in the Norwegian Navy, sailing from Norway down to Italy and along the Riviera back to Spain.
Standing there, looking out over that beach, something about the sea changed for me. Since then I've worked in tech -- building enterprise systems, managing products, solving hard problems with software. But the dream has always been the same: my own bluewater sailboat, and the freedom to go anywhere.
Sail-OS is the tool I'm building for that future boat. Every feature exists because I'll need it myself -- tracking parts, predicting costs, knowing exactly what shape my boat is in before crossing an ocean.
I couldn't find software that did this well, so I'm making it. Using the same techniques we use in enterprise IT to manage millions of assets, adapted for something that actually matters to me.
Every penny this app makes goes toward one thing: funding the dream of a 50-foot bluewater cruiser and the freedom to sail it.
If Sail-OS helps you take better care of your boat, that's all the thanks I need. But if you'd like to chip in toward the dream -- any amount is deeply appreciated.
